FAQ

Common
questions.

Everything you need to know before engaging with us.

01
What battery chemistry do your systems use?

All SilicIndia BESS and ESS products use Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP / LiFePO₄) prismatic cells — specifically 314 Ah format. LFP is the industry standard for stationary storage: it offers the best cycle life (≥ 6,000 cycles at 100% DoD), no thermal runaway risk at the chemistry level, and the lowest levelised cost of storage over a 15-year asset life.

02
What is your product range?

We offer five standard configurations: SIE-ESS250 (250 kWh outdoor cabinet), SIE-BESS1500 (1.5 MWh), SIE-BESS3000 (3 MWh), SIE-BESS5000 (5 MWh 20-ft container), and SIE-BESS10000 (10 MWh 40-ft container). Custom capacities between 250 kWh and 50 MWh are available for projects requiring non-standard sizing.

03
What certifications do your systems carry?

Our systems are certified to IEC 62619 (safety requirements for secondary lithium cells in industrial applications), verified by Bureau Veritas. SilicIndia Energies holds MSME/Udyam registration under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India. UL 9540A, IS 16270 (BIS), and ISO 9001:2015 are in process for Phase 1 commissioning in 2026.

04
What applications are your systems designed for?

Primary use cases: utility-scale peak-shaving and frequency regulation (grid-forming capable), IPP/renewable-plus-storage hybrid projects, C&I behind-the-meter demand charge reduction, and critical-infrastructure backup. Our systems meet IP54 ingress protection and are rated for outdoor installation in Indian climate conditions.

05
Do you manufacture end-to-end or assemble imported packs?

We manufacture from cell intake to commissioned container on a single 17-station automated line at our Mandvi, Surat facility. Cells are sourced from a Tier-1 LFP supplier and IR-tested in-house before entering the line. BMS firmware, EMS software, thermal management, and pack structural design are all developed in-house. We do not resell or repackage imported rack assemblies.

06
What is the typical lead time from PO to delivery?

Standard lead time for containerised BESS units (BESS3000–BESS10000) is 14–18 weeks from confirmed purchase order. SIE-ESS250 and BESS1500 cabinets are 10–12 weeks. Lead times may vary based on order volume and site-readiness scheduling.

07
Do you provide installation and commissioning support?

Yes. All systems include factory acceptance testing (FAT) at Mandvi and site acceptance testing (SAT) with a SilicIndia commissioning engineer on-site. We coordinate with EPC contractors for civil and electrical interface. A 100-cycle break-in and EMS handover are included in the scope.

08
What warranty do you offer?

Standard product warranty: 2 years on all hardware from the date of SAT. Performance warranty: ≥ 80% capacity retention at end of year 10 under standard cycling conditions. Extended warranty and O&M packages are available as part of service agreements.

09
What is the minimum order quantity?

There is no minimum order quantity for standard products. Single-unit orders are accepted. Volume pricing applies for orders of 3 units or more. Framework agreements for multi-site or multi-year procurement are available.

10
How do I request a quote?

Use the Request Quote form on our Contact page. Please include project location, required capacity (MWh), use case (C&I / IPP / utility), grid connection type, and target commissioning date. Our team will respond within 2 business days with a preliminary design and indicative pricing.
